Goody goody goodiessssss - Prima have a-plenty to giveaway :)

I'm very intrigued with the give aways that blogs do, and when looking around I came across the Prima blog through some friends who recommended it. When I checked out their site I was amazed at the beautiful items that they make.

While browsing I also noticed they are giving away some goodies up to the value of $100 with one American winner and one International winner - needless to say I'd definately like to win the goodies - I don't really seem to win anything these days, but hey ho if I don't I don't at least I've spread the word a little.

They also have something big happening around the 5th of March, so get adding them to your blog and find out what this exciting thing is :) :)

here is a pic of the goodies :) :) lovely ain't they :) :) Pop along to the Prima blog here and why not try your luck and enter too :) :)

Too Big For My Boots!

Last night I started knitting some wrist warmers, and I was determined I would finish it in one night - and yeah I did finish one of them, but it was the wrong size of needles - ARGH! Nightmare - they were too tiny - my niece wouldn't even get her hands through them - it serves me right for not looking properly at the size of needles - so I'll just have to start again and then i'll get to try out my nice new needles woohoo! While knitting though I wanted something I could finish quick - nothing beats the feeling that you have accomplished something... sooo.... I remebered I'd got this little pattern and these were the first things I ever knitted, but couldn't find where I'd put them so I just knitted some more up with some matching ribbons. I think these tiny booties look so cute - and I'm delighted with them. No doubt I'll use them to make my mum's neighbour a card as she is due a baby any time soon, and they are on a card on the site, but I have other ideas on how to use these babies too.
Check out the pattern here :) It's issue 5 and called 'baby booties' there is some lovely little crafts over there so you should really take some time out and have a look.

I felt very crafty tonight too... I made my gran's birthday cards, but it took me over 3 hours just to get a little inspiration - I don't really have much in the ways of card toppers, plenty card, but nothing really to put on them, but I managed and got 2 decent looking cards. I tried to get pics of them but no matter how much I tried I just couldn't get one that did them justice - that's my excuse and i'm sticking by it hehe!

Projects so far

Well that's me settled into my lovely new home. Its fab, I can literally see the sea from my bedroom window and the scenery out of every window in my house is so exciting. I love waking up and looking out every morning. I'll get some pictures on the go for you asap. It's so exciting hehe!

Since I've been moving I've really not had much time to do any crafting However I do finally have a piccie of the scarf I made for my niece, and seeing as she's only 5 and loves anything furry I'm hoping she will love this - i'm sure she will...

Knitting is a new found craft of mine so may of my projects won't be perfect, but I've done a few things my most favourite thing was the bag and purse I knitted my gran for christmas, it looked fab with it's lining and customized hand knitted bow with beads. I thoroughly enjoyed making these and just wish Id taken a picture. However if I remember i'll definately take one when I'm next down at hers so I can let you all see.

Because it's such a new hobby I really didn't have anything to start me of so I love being able to trawl through the shops looking for anything that is knitting related. Especially if it is cheap. Pound shops have been a saviour and in one of them I can get 3 balls of eyelash wool for £1 and huge balls of wool for only £1. Anyways Poundland seems to be my saviour at the moment, it had these......

I can't wait to try these :) they're plastic and I love the colours.

Anyways onto another little project I've completed - this was my first ever shot at doing a sock, and because it's done with 2 needles and not double pointed needles (which i'm hopeless at using, I really must get learning how to do it to make big socks) it has turned out really well and is so cute, think i'll whip up another 24 of these and make them into an advent calender for christmas, or make another one in pink for my niece and give them to my niece and nephew with a little keepsake for christmas, either or they'll be christmas presents lol!

This little sock was made using a fab pattern from littlecottonrabbits which can be found here. Have a look at the other patterns available over there, they have some wonderful little bears which would make some great little prezzies.

Well I think i've garbled enough for now, I'm going to go and make a start on some mini booties.

Busy Busy Busy

Very busy couple of days...

Yesterday (Friday) we got the keys to our lovely new house... so excited about moving in, it's just fabulous. So was doing a lot of phoning around sorting things out... but to be honest on a single track road with lots of snow and thick ice, it wasn't much fun trying to get to the house, and especially wasn't nice having to push the car out, but hey ho onwards and upwards.

I couldn't get on yesterday as the internet was down, so couldn't get pictures uploaded of my little creations, which is rather annoying, so I'll have to wait until I get my camera back to upload some proper pictures.

Today, I finished off the scarf I started for my niece, and the eyelash wool I was going to get rid of, came in very handy for fringing, so I think I shall be keeping that after all thanking you very much. The colours have bamboozled me since I started the scarf, I wanted to know where I'd seen them and why they looked so familiar, it was only when I was eating my cadbury's caramel, I realised it was the caramel bunny's colours - only a lighter shade of purple, so no wonder my little niece loves these colours so much it reminds her of some choccie - she's definately a girl after my own heart. hehe.

Anyways, will keep you updated about the housemove, and also get some piccies up and running.

Stay safe in this made freeze we are having.

Love emmy xx

Finally - I'm in!

oOo, I've finally taken the plunge into this blogging malarky. I guess it's all the lovely ladies on MSE that have inspired me to take the steps - thanking you.

I would like to say i'll have lots of lovely things to show you here, but 9 times out of 10 my crafting goes wrong lol. But hey i'm a tryer not a quiter.

I'll post up as much of my crafts as possible to show off, but I'll no doubt just pop by and blog my thoughts and ideas of the day :)

I supose a good place to start would be today..

I finished off a 1000 piece jigsaw for my brother last night, I bought it for him for xmas, but he has no patience so asked me to do it. Just have to glue it for him, and then he can frame it, as he knows how he wants it himself. Dad wants me to do the 2 he has so will no doubt get started on them asap.

I also started to knit my niece a scarf. I had some lovely fluffy yellow and purple wool left over, was a little worried that it might not look right, but actually it's coming on quite nice, and anyways they are her favourite colours so that's just fine by me. I was going to knit with eyelash wook but it was just so difficult that I scrapped that idea, to be honest i'm getting fed up with it I might just give it to mum to see what she can do with it.

On the path of crafting, I did sign up to do the year long project of cooking 1 recipe each week and making a little gift out of it in the form of a recipe box with the recipe and some photos.... This is a challenge which was brought up on MSE, and I thought it would be good to pass on to my niece next year in a possible baking hamper for christmas. So I was supposed to make a recipe box, and there was clear instructions posted by Debbie on her blog Country Heart And Home but I don't have any 12x12 cardstock, only some lovely A4 card which I bought from ebay sometime last year. Debbie did come to my rescue though and pointed me in the right direction to a lovely notelet box which she had instructions for on her blog also. I did have a little mishap while making the box and glued it the wrong way *mental note - buy some double sided sticky tape* but i've managed to salvage it, and I'm very happy with the outcome...

So all in all had a couple of cracking crafty days ... all thanks to being snowed in and inspired by the lovely ladies on the MSE pages.
